B.Sc. (Hons.) Psychology

The B.Sc. (Hons.) Psychology program at Chanakya University offers an intellectually rigorous and experiential pathway to understanding the human mind and behavior. Designed for students who are deeply curious about thought, emotion, and cognition, the program integrates scientific inquiry with cultural and ethical awareness.

Grounded in contemporary research and informed by global perspectives, the curriculum spans the biological, cognitive, developmental, and social foundations of psychology. Students progress through hands-on laboratory work, guided research, and field-based learning experiences that connect theory with real-world practice.

A key strength of the program lies in its state-of-the-art laboratory ecosystem, comprising four dedicated labs: the Experimental Lab, Assessment and Testing Lab, Behavioral Lab, and Counseling Simulation Lab. These learning spaces allow students to engage in experiments, psychometric testing, behavioral analysis, and simulated counseling sessions, fostering both scientific and applied competencies.

A distinctive feature of the program is its specialised electives in Health Psychology, School Psychology, and Indian Psychology, which allow students to explore diverse applications of psychological science across healthcare, education, and community settings. Through this integrative approach, the program bridges Western scientific frameworks and Indian psychological thought, fostering a holistic understanding of the mind.

The inclusion of a Research Track enables students to develop strong competencies in research design, data analysis, and scientific writing under expert mentorship. This focus on research, combined with experiential learning and interdisciplinary engagement, prepares graduates for advanced study and professional careers in psychology, education, health sciences, and related
fields.

By cultivating intellectual curiosity, cultural sensitivity, and research excellence, the B.Sc. (Hons.) Psychology program equips students to engage meaningfully with the complexities of human experience and to contribute to individual and collective well-being in an increasingly interconnected world.
