Dr. Priyanka Dwivedi comes with an experience in academia and public policy consulting. In June 2023, she completed her post-doc from Anglia Ruskin University, U.K. and before that, she served as a faculty at Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies dept. in Penn State University, U.S A. Dr. Priyanka is a JRF scholar and has a Ph.D. in women’s studies with emphasis on science, tech and society from the Center for Women’s Studies at Bangalore University. Priyanka holds MSc. in Sociology from London School of Economics and Political Science, London for which she was awarded the prestigious commonwealth fellowship. She also serves on the advisory board of She Loves Data, a leading non-profit organization in Singapore.
Dr. Priyanka is the recipient of the prestigious Daughter’s Day award from Bangalore University for excellence in research. She has also received recognition for her work from former Chief justice of India, Hon’ble Justice M. N. Venkatachaliah and former judge of Supreme court, Hon’ble Justice Santosh Hegde. She is gold medallist in Sociology from Madras University and has worked extensively in impact consulting with Indian Institute of Public Administration, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, National Human Rights Commission, NITI Aayog, Govt. of India and with the Dept. of Women and Child Development, Govt. of Karnataka.
Priyanka is an avid researcher, and her interests relate to women in tech, the newly emerging areas of data bias in AI algorithms and inclusivity in AI designs. She draws on mixed methods for her research and has widely published in peer reviewed journals of international repute. When not doing research and consulting, Priyanka enjoys hiking, practising classical dance, and listening to podcasts.
