About Minor Courses at Chanakya University
Minor programmes at Chanakya University give students the chance to explore an additional subject area along with their main field of study. These programmes are designed to offer flexibility, promote interdisciplinary learning, and help students develop broader knowledge and
skills.

What is a Minor?
A Minor is a group of courses from a subject that is different from or complimentary to the Majors. While the Major is the primary focus of study, the Minor allows students to gain extra knowledge in a second area of interest. It adds value to their degree and helps them explore career and academic options beyond their main discipline.
Credit Structure
Minor programmes follow a fixed credit system:

Flexibility Across Schools
Students can choose a Minor from any school, not just their own. For example, a student from Science can choose a Minor from Humanities or Law. This helps students combine knowledge from different fields and learn in a more holistic way. Once students choose a minor, they continue in the same minor till they graduate.
Who Can Choose a Minor?
All undergraduate students can choose a Minor starting from Semester 3. To complete the Minor, students need to follow the credit and course requirements set for that Minor. However, choosing a Minor depends on the availability of seats.
Enrolment Timeline
UG students can register for Minor courses through the Digii campus Portal according to the timelines shared by the Office of Academic Affairs. Students are required to adhere strictly to these timelines to ensure smooth registration and timely course allocation.
