To commemorate International Women’s Day, Chanakya university organized an event titled “Women in Action with Pride.” The intention of this event was to retrospect the success stories of women across diverse fields.
Delegates invited to the event were – Ms.Daisy Mistri, Former Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Gokuldas Exports, Smt. Vijayamma (Progressive Farmer), Smt. Lakshmamma (Municipality Worker), and Smt. Nalina (Transgender Social Worker).
Smt. Vijayamma, Smt. Lakshmamma, and Smt. Nalina were also facilitated during the event to honour their exemplary contribution in their respective fields.
The delegates during their talk emphasized the role of women in the society and shared their experiences while working towards gender equality. Specifically, Ms. Daisy mentioned the need and relevance of empowering women through creation of opportunities to learn, the role of systems and organisational set up in shaping futures of its employees (especially women employees).
Prof Yashvantha Dongre -Vice Chancellor, Chanakya University delivered the introductory address. He emphasized the role of women in society and opined that the focus should towards gender equality.
