India @75 series

Ricky Kej, multi-Grammy award winning artist and environmentalist emphasised
that the threat to our environment is real and we have to address this serious issue
at multiple levels. In a free-wheeling conversation with Prof Sandeep Nair at
Chanakya University, Bengaluru, as a part of India @75 series to celebrate the 75
years of independence, Ricky Kej talked about his idea of music, education and
environment in a very captivating way. His talk also devolved upon creating
awareness about environmental issues through his music and the importance of
preserving folk music in order to ensure that India’s rich heritage is protected and
showcased at global level. Speaking about education, he insisted that children
should be given a choice to decide their education and pursue their passion. Ricky
Kej, mentioned that education and performing arts cando a lot for the betterment
of the society.

Vice – Chancellor, Professor Yashwant Dongre, presided over the event. The
Registrar and other members of the University were present. Dr. Vinayachandra
Banavathy, Director, Communications, CU offered the vote of thanks.


The event was held at Chanakya University, Brigade Orchards Campus,
Devanahalli on 02.08.22 at 4pm.


Chanakya University is organising a talk series titled India @75 series to celebrate
India’s 75 years of independence. The conversation with the Grammy-award winner is the first of this series. Distinguished people from different walks of life will be part of this series.
