Prof. Sudarshan Kumar

He is a distinguished Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai, India. With a rich academic and research background, he is a leading authority in the field of combustion and aerospace engineering. Dr. Kumar’s research interests encompass a wide range of topics, including flameless combustion of gaseous fuels, aerothermochemistry, high-temperature air combustion, turbulent combustion, and the reduction of pollutant emissions from combustion systems. He has also contributed to the development of micro rockets based on solid propellants. Dr. Kumar’s extensive academic journey includes positions as a Visiting Professor at Seoul National University in South Korea and various roles at IIT Bombay, where he has served as both an Associate and Assistant Professor. His international research experience includes a postdoctoral stint at Tohoku University in Japan and research associate work at the Combustion Gasification and Propulsion Laboratory at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore. His expertise and contributions have made him a notable figure in aerospace engineering and combustion.
