Chanakya University hosted Dr. Raghavendra (Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and Vice Dean for Global Academic Initiatives, Viterbi School of Engineering, University of Southern California, USA) and Dr. Shivakumar Sastry (University of Akron) for an academic visit that led to wide-ranging discussions on research collaboration, faculty development, and program design. The visit generated strong interest across multiple schools and highlighted several areas of mutual academic alignment.
During their time on campus, the visitors interacted with Prof. Subramanya, Dean of the School of Biosciences, Prof. Shobana Padmanabhan, Head of the School of Engineering, and Prof. Chetan Singai, Dean of the School of Law, Governance and Public Policy. The discussions included visits to laboratories in the Schools of Engineering and Biosciences, and explored opportunities for faculty-level collaboration and joint academic initiatives.
In addition, Dr. Shivakumar Sastry discussed an initiative to establish a centre focused on industry collaboration, suggesting potential participation by Chanakya University in its conceptual development. This aligns closely with Chanakya University’s institutional vision and opens avenues for future engagement.
