Key Benefits:
- Career Clarity: Explore professions and define career goals.
- Workplace Readiness: Learn professional culture, communication and adaptability.
- Skill Development: Practice industry tools and problem-solving.
- Theory-to-Practice Link: Bridge academic learning with work execution.
- Placement Advantage: Gain practical experience that strengthens employability.

Internship Hiring Process
The internship recruitment process typically unfolds in three stages:
- Shortlisting & Screening: Resume evaluation (via ATS) and initial calls assessing qualifications, communication and interest.
- Assessment & Technical Evaluation: Practical tasks or interviews to test job-specific skills.
- Final Interview & Selection: Behavioral assessments to ensure team fit, followed by offer issuance.
Internship as a “Doorway to Skill Stacking”
Skill stacking combines abilities across multiple areas to build a versatile career profile. Stacking internships a combination of micro, summer, winter or semester-long roles. This helps students gain diverse experience aligned with market needs. Internship durations usually range from one to six months. The objective is to ensure purposeful well-selected internships that create more impact than a higher number of unrelated ones.
Internship Assessment and Grading
Intern performance is evaluated through structured rubrics focusing on:
- Core Competencies: Communication, teamwork, problem-solving and technical proficiency.
- Performance Levels: Clear scales from beginner to exemplary.
- Specific Criteria & Evidence: Observable skills and project outputs.
- Feedback: Mentor comments aligned with evaluation metrics.
Assessments combine performance, professionalism and learning agility to ensure objective and holistic grading with the objective of dovetailing academic learning in the university to practical applications in the organisations where students have interned.
