Chanakya University was honoured to welcome Dr. Ramaswami Balasubramaniam (Dr. R Balu), noted development scholar, author, and public policy advocate. Dr. Balu is widely respected for his decades of work with rural and tribal communities in India and currently serves as a Member of the Human Resource Capacity Building Commission, Government of India, New Delhi.
During his visit, Dr. Balu addressed students and faculty, sharing deep insights on India’s distinctive perspective on Public Policy. He stressed the importance of grounding public policy education in India-centric case studies, issues, and frameworks, ensuring it remains relevant, practical, and transformative.
Drawing from his rich experience in grassroots development and governance, Dr. Balu encouraged future leaders to think critically, analyse deeply, and use local wisdom to respond to global challenges.
His talk provided valuable guidance for Chanakya University’s vision of preparing socially responsible leaders for the future.
