On 3rd January 2025, an exciting new initiative, the Vikasana Personality Development Programme, was launched in collaboration with Disha Bharat at the Global Campus, Chanakya University. This program aimed to provide first-year students with an enriching experience that not only focuses on academic excellence but also personal growth, fostering essential life skills, leadership qualities, and emotional intelligence.
The event was designed as a comprehensive learning experience, with expert speakers and engaging workshops that aimed to cultivate well-rounded personalities, helping students navigate the challenges of university life and prepare them for a successful future. By collaborating with Disha Bharat, an organization renowned for its work in youth empowerment and development, Chanakya University made an important stride in offering holistic educational experiences for its students.
The primary goal of Vikasana was to equip students with the tools and skills necessary for personal and professional growth. Self-Awareness and Confidence Building with expert guidance, students participated in activities aimed at boosting their self-awareness and self-esteem, empowering them to make informed decisions in both their personal and academic lives. Effective communication is a cornerstone of success in any field. The programme offered workshops on improving verbal and non-verbal communication, helping students articulate their thoughts clearly and confidently in various settings. The students were introduced to techniques for managing their time effectively, setting clear academic and personal goals, and maintaining a balance between their studies and personal life. Emotional Intelligence and Stress Management recognizing the pressures first-year students often face, Vikasana included sessions on emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and stress management techniques to ensure students were prepared to handle challenges with composure. Encouraging leadership skills and collaborative teamwork was a core focus. Activities were designed to help students take initiative, work effectively in teams, and develop leadership qualities that would serve them well in their academic and future professional journeys.
The event was attended by a large number of enthusiastic first-year students from various disciplines, creating a vibrant atmosphere of learning and growth. Notable speakers from Disha Bharat shared their insights on the importance of personality development and practical tips on building resilience and emotional intelligence. Interactive sessions, such as group discussions and role-playing activities, allowed students to engage directly with the content, applying concepts to real-world scenarios.
Moreover, students were allowed to connect with their peers and mentors, establishing a network of support that would continue to benefit them throughout their university years.
The mission of Vikasana is to empower students and help them grow as confident, well-rounded individuals.
