Strengthening Global Ties: Visit from the Consulate of the Netherlands

The University recently welcomed a distinguished delegation from the Consulate of the Netherlands, marking a significant milestone in its global engagement journey. The delegation comprised Consul General Mr. Ewout de Wit, Senior Policy Advisor Dr. Nutan, and Prof. Regina Hoffmann from TU Delft, a globally renowned Dutch institution.

The visit commenced with a formal welcome by Dr. Ravikant Ranjan, Associate Director (Global Engagement), followed by a strategic meeting with senior leadership including Vice Chancellor Prof. Dongre, Prof. Chetan Singai (Dean, SLGPP), and Sri Deepak Pandaya. Discussions centered on academic collaborations such as faculty exchanges, joint research, and knowledge-sharing platforms. Mr. de Wit highlighted the role of academic diplomacy and expressed keen interest in partnering with Indian institutions that emphasize innovation and global citizenship. Dr. Nutan emphasized Dutch government-supported initiatives in science, technology, sustainability, and cultural exchange.

A highlight of the visit was the academic engagement led by Prof. Regina Hoffmann. She conducted interactive sessions for faculty, researchers, and postgraduate students on public speaking, science communication, and effective scientific writing. With practical strategies, real-world examples, and hands-on exercises, the sessions offered participants tools to craft compelling narratives, engage audiences, and structure impactful research papers. These were especially appreciated by early-career researchers for their practical relevance.

The visit concluded with campus tours and a shared commitment to deepening Indo-Dutch collaboration. The dialogues and sessions enriched Chanakya’s academic community while opening promising avenues for future partnerships and intercultural exchange.
