Orientation Program of Youth Red Cross (YRC) Unit 

The Orientation Program of the Youth Red Cross (YRC) Unit was successfully organized on 16th October 2025 (Thursday) from 02:30 PM to 03:30 PM at Room No. 424, 4th Floor, Administrative Building, under the aegis of the Office of Student Affairs. 

The program aimed to introduce students to the objectives, principles, and humanitarian mission of the Indian Red Cross Society and to encourage active student participation in community service through the YRC Unit. 

Distinguished guests included Sri Bhaskar Rao, IPS (Retd.), Vice President, Indian Red Cross Society, Karnataka State Branch, and Sri Umakant, General Secretary (I/C), Indian Red Cross Society, Karnataka State Branch, along with the Dean and Deputy Director of Student Affairs. Students from various departments attended the session enthusiastically. 

The event began with a welcome address, followed by an introduction to the university’s YRC Unit. The Dean and Deputy Director encouraged students to engage in social welfare and community development initiatives. Chief Guest Sri Bhaskar Rao delivered an inspiring address on the history and principles of the Red Cross, emphasizing the youth’s pivotal role in humanitarian service. 

The session provided valuable insights into the activities and impact of the Youth Red Cross. The orientation concluded with a renewed commitment among students to actively participate in YRC initiatives, marking the beginning of a vibrant and service-oriented Red Cross Unit at the university.
