As part of the Indo-European Summer Academy 2025, Chanakya University hosted a lecture by Dr. Manoj Gonuguntla, Team Lead at Shell Technology, Bengaluru, on the theme “Managing the Fossil Fuel Dilemma: Transition Strategies for Security and Sustainability.”
Dr. Gonuguntla addressed the complexities of today’s global energy landscape. He explained how the uneven pace of decarbonisation, shifting national priorities, and climate imperatives are shaping difficult policy choices. He stressed the need to rethink energy security beyond narrow national interests and adopt approaches that are visionary but grounded in practical realities.
The session also focused on strategies to enable the energy transition, including policy reform, technological innovation, and international cooperation. His lecture offered participants valuable insights into bridging the gap between current fossil fuel dependence and the pursuit of a secure and sustainable energy future.
