School of Law, Governance and Public Policy at Chanakya University hosted an insightful guest lecture by Dr. Nagarathna A., Associate Professor of Law at NLSIU, Bangalore, and Co-Ordinator of the PG Diploma in Cyber Law & Cyber Forensics.
In her talk titled “Intersection of Cyber Law and Forensics: Navigating the Digital World,” Dr. Nagarathna unpacked the growing relevance of cyber forensics in modern legal systems. She illustrated how digital evidence—from mobile phones to smart devices—has become crucial across criminal, civil, and even family law cases. Emphasizing the importance of forensic procedures like hashing, mirror imaging, and chain of custody, she underscored the need for legally and scientifically sound methods of evidence collection.
With real-life examples and engaging interaction, the session left students with a deeper understanding of how technology, law, and forensic science converge in today’s legal landscape.
