At the Indo-European Summer Academy 2025, Chanakya University hosted a session by Apurv Mishra, Consultant to the Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council. He spoke on the theme of India’s energy governance and the complex interactions shaping it.
Mr. Mishra explained how climate goals, law, and federal politics influence decision-making in India’s energy sector. He discussed how tools such as Right to Information (RTI) requests reveal gaps in implementation, and how institutional reform is needed to meet both domestic and international commitments.
The session helped participants understand the competing priorities of growth, sustainability, and governance, and how these shape India’s choices in the transition to clean energy.
By connecting policy frameworks with on-ground realities, Mr. Mishra highlighted both the progress made and the challenges ahead. His talk offered students and young professionals valuable insight into the political and legal dimensions of India’s energy future.
