As part of the Indo-European Summer Academy 2025, Chanakya University hosted a policy writing workshop led by Dr. Chirayu Thakkar, a doctoral candidate in International Relations jointly at the National University of Singapore and King’s College, London. He holds graduate degrees in Modern South Asian Studies from the University of Oxford and Political Science from the Central European University.
In the workshop, Dr. Thakkar emphasised that policy writing is about turning ideas into action. He stressed clarity, simplicity, and purpose as foundational principles. Participants learned how to identify their audience, structure persuasive policy memos, and translate complex research into practical, impactful documents.
His session offered students and young professionals hands-on tools to bridge insight and implementation—reinforcing the Academy’s aim of nurturing future leaders equipped to drive real-world policy change.
