The Indo-European Summer Academy 2025 began at Chanakya University with its inaugural session on energy security, geopolitics, technology, and the green transition. The Academy aims to bring together young scholars, professionals, and thought leaders from India and Europe to discuss shared challenges in a rapidly changing global environment.
In the opening session, speakers highlighted the impact of climate risks, the importance of strategic resilience, and the potential of India–EU collaboration in shaping sustainable futures.
Key speakers included Ms. Usha Subramanian (Deputy Resident Representative, Hanns Seidel Stiftung, India), Ms. Birgit Singer-Carter (Consul, German Consulate General, Bangalore), Lt. Gen. C.A. Krishnan (Former Deputy Chief of the Indian Army), Dr. Peter Hefele (Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies, Brussels), and Dr. Gowrisha Joshi (Director, CESS).
The discussions set the tone for the days ahead, focusing on resilience, cooperation, and pathways towards a sustainable future.
