Honouring Excellence of the University

5th Sammilan:

On 3rd July 2025, the School of Management Sciences hosted the July edition of Sammilan, Held at the Grand Entrance, a total of 17 achievers were felicitated. Student highlights included Sushmitha B R (SAHSS) and Kolisetty Nikith (SOE) for poster presentations at the Global Youth Summit 2025, and M. Harshavardhan, Manoj S M, and Akshatha R V (SMNS) for publishing machine learning research in Zenodo. Pavitra K K (SBS) contributed to a Springer Nature book, while Abhinav M P and Rajendra CP (NCC) won gold medals at a Guinness World Record yoga event.

Faculty honourees included Dr. Bhavani M R (reviewer, IIMB Management Review), Prof. Hariprasad M Hegde (conference presentation), Naveen Bhat (IKS research grant), and Poonam Purohit (AOM Denmark yoga session).

The event was attended by Vice Chancellor Prof. Yashavantha Dongre, Registrar Prof. Sushanth Joshi, and deans of schools, concluding with the Chanakya University Anthem. Sammilan reaffirmed the university’s commitment to celebrating merit and fostering a culture of excellence.

6th Sammilan:

The 6th edition of Sammilan was held in August 2025, honouring student achievements, including Jathin D (SOE) for publishing research on heart disease prediction and digital biology, Anjani Sahasra Patri (SMS) for selection at the Young Leaders’ Summit, IIM Bangalore, and recognition as Top Performer at IBS Ahmedabad. Gayathri Shivani KP (SLGPP) was appointed Campus Ambassador for MyCaptain, while Chitthara Patel (SLGPP) completed a Supreme Court internship and published in an international legal journal. Achievements also included national sports success by Dwisan Biswas (karate medals), Harshavardhan Manavalan (Infosys Springboard internship), and cultural engagements like Divesh Kumar’s journalism internship at Deccan Herald.

The NCC Naval Wing cadets earned distinctions at the Annual Training Camp, with Shriyanshu Rout Ray, Rajendra C P, and others winning awards in cadetship, drill, instrumental music, and painting.

Faculty and staff were also recognised: notable achievements included Dr. Sirshendu Ghosh’s research in Small Structures (Wiley), Dr. Priyanka Dwivedi’s appointment to the NCERT Textbook Development Team, and Sri. Hemanth N V’s state-level badminton victories.

The Placement Office shared recruitment updates, and upcoming cultural events—including MAYA Filmography Club inauguration, Independence Day, Janmashtami, and Ganesh Chaturthi—were announced.

7th Sammilan

The 7th Sammilan, hosted by the School of Law, Governance and Public Policy, was held at the Central Plaza Lawns.

Highlights included Nishanth R (SMS) being named among the Top 500 Changemakers globally in the Changemaker World Cup 2025, and Archana L R and Sammitha S Koshala (SLGPP) securing prizes in speech competitions. Shankara Vasishta T N (SOE) won a consolation prize at LPSC ISRO Bengaluru, while Balaji M V (SOE) earned third place in a paper presentation at the Bangalore Eco Summit.

Faculty recognitions featured Dr. Hariprasad M, Mahesh Krishna K, Krishna Kurthkoti, Raisa Dsouza, and Dr. Pradeep Kumar for impactful research, publications, and academic contributions. NCC cadets were also commended for achievements in Army Attachment Camps and Nau Sainik training.

The Sammilan concluded with the Chanakya Anthem, reaffirming the university’s culture of unity and achievement.
