SBS hosted an engaging invited talk by Dr. Gnaneshwar Yadav titled “Empowering Pharma to Drug the Undruggable in Drug Discovery: Targeting mRNA Translation to Treat Diseases and in Diagnosis.” Dr. Yadav, Founder and CEO of TranslaTale Biosystems, is a distinguished scientist-entrepreneur working at the forefront of ribosome biology, translatomics, and drug discovery. With over a decade of experience in molecular biology, genome editing, and in vivo disease models, his research has significantly contributed to understanding disease-relevant translational mechanisms.
His talk offered valuable insights into the emerging field of mRNA translation-based therapeutics and diagnostics, highlighting how the regulation of protein synthesis can be leveraged to address diseases such as cancer, neurological disorders, and rare conditions. Dr. Yadav also introduced the vision of TranslaTale Biosystems, a pioneering biotech venture focused on developing organ-specific and patient-specific translating mRNA screening platforms to enable precision-targeted therapies.
During the talk, Dr. Yadav shared how innovative platform technologies can unlock previously inaccessible biological data, thereby transforming the drug discovery landscape and opening new avenues for treating previously “undruggable” diseases. The session was highly informative and inspiring for students, researchers, and faculty members interested in translational biotechnology and precision medicine.
