For the first time in NCC history, Flag Football was introduced at the Annual Training Camp (ATC) held at Air Force Station Jalahalli (East) as part of National Sports Day celebrations. The event marked the conclusion of the 10-day camp of the 1 Karnataka Battalion NCC and was inaugurated by Air Commodore S.B. Arun Kumar, VSM, Deputy Director General of NCC (Karnataka & Goa).
Flag Football, a non-contact variant of American football and an upcoming Olympic sport in 2028, saw NCC cadets take on professional players from the Karnataka Flag and American Football Association (KFAFA), ending in a thrilling 14-all draw. Adding to the excitement, Subedar Rama Murthy, India’s first Army bodybuilder to win an international silver medal, delivered an electrifying performance.
From Chanakya University, four cadets, Cdt. Mannat Tomar, Cdt. Datta Vishnu Sai, Cdt. Manasvi R, and JUO Yatheesh T.M., participated with distinction. Notably, Cdt. Manasvi R was awarded by Air Commodore Arun Kumar for her exemplary performance.
