Dr. Anjali Bajpai, Research Scientist at IIT Kanpur, visited the School of Biosciences on August 19th and delivered an informative talk on the cancerous transformation of cells. She discussed the mechanisms underlying the loss of cellular memory during the cancer progression and highlighted potential therapeutic opportunities through the reversal of these processes. She explained how of the fruit fly (Drosophila) in which cancer can be experimentally induced through specific mutations, can be leveraged to study complex mechanisms.
