
Prof. H. S. Subramanya is a distinguished scientist and academic leader with over three decades of experience spanning structural biology, drug discovery, and translational research across academia and industry. He earned his PhD from the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, with pioneering work on the structure of the Sesbania Mosaic Virus, and completed his postdoctoral research at the University of Oxford, where he worked extensively on the structural and biochemical aspects of DNA replication enzymes.
Prof. Subramanya has served in senior leadership roles including Assistant Director at the Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), Lucknow, over two decades at Aurigene Discovery Technologies as Director, Vice President, and Senior Vice President, and as Director of the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB). He has authored 50+ peer‑reviewed publications and holds 19 patents, reflecting major contributions to structural biology and drug discovery.
He currently serves as Pro Vice‑Chancellor of Chanakya University, contributing to its academic leadership, research strategy, and institutional development.
