Ambassador Ashok K. Kantha Joins Chanakya University as the Inaugural Chair Professor for Subhas Chandra Bose Chair on International Relations
Chanakya University warmly welcomes Ambassador Ashok K. Kantha as he formally joins as the Inaugural Chair Professor of the Subhas Chandra Bose Chair on International Relations.
Ambassador Kantha is one of India’s most respected diplomats with nearly four decades of experience in the Indian Foreign Service. His distinguished career includes serving as Ambassador of India to China (2014–2016), Secretary (East) in the Ministry of External Affairs, High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and Malaysia, Consul General in Hong Kong, and Deputy Chief of Mission in Kathmandu.
Beyond his diplomatic career, Ambassador Kantha has contributed significantly to strategic scholarship, serving as Director and Honorary Fellow at the Institute of Chinese Studies (ICS), Distinguished Fellow at the Vivekananda International Foundation, and Chair of the Core Group on China at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
As the inaugural Chair, Ambassador Kantha will spearhead the strategic advancement of International Relations studies at Chanakya University: shaping research priorities, leading high-level academic and policy dialogues.
