Chanakya University’s School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences successfully hosted a one-day workshop titled “Everyday Science: Where Curiosity Meets Reality” on 5 December 2025. Students from Vishwa Vidyapeeth, Sri Surya PU College, and Rashtrothanna Vidya Kendra enthusiastically participated in the programme.
The event began with an inaugural session and a brief introduction to the university, followed by inspiring opening remarks from Prof. H.S. Subramanya (Honourable Pro-VC) and Prof. Dileep Jatkar, who highlighted the role of science in everyday life.
Prof. Sivakumar delivered an engaging talk on “The Science Behind Technology”, explaining how modern scientific research shapes lifestyle and innovation.
The chemistry session after the break, led by Dr. Sirshendu Ghosh, demonstrated how chemistry drives sustainable energy and green technologies. Students explored aluminium–air batteries, hydrogen energy, and green ammonia synthesis, gaining hands-on exposure to lab-scale energy solutions.
In the physics lab, Dr. Bhagyashri and Dr. Madhuri showcased the relevance of physics in energy, wave dynamics, and applications of electromagnetic waves through interactive demonstrations that sparked curiosity. Students also gained hands-on experience with a range of engaging physics experiments.
After lunch, Dr. Raisa conducted an exciting mathematics session, presenting mathematics as the language of geometry. Her hands-on topology models illustrated how mathematical ideas shape structures in surprising ways.
The final session, led by Dr. Hari Prasad, introduced students to the power of data science, showing how images can be transformed into data and meaningful insights.
Active participation throughout the day made the workshop highly interactive and enriching.
