Chanakya University, in collaboration with Pratiksha Trust, organized a 3-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “AI for Educators” from 25th to 27th September 2025. The program was held under the patronage of Sri Kris Gopalakrishnan, Co-Founder of Infosys, and brought together faculty from diverse disciplines to explore the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (GenAI) in higher education.
The FDP aimed to equip educators with both conceptual understanding and hands-on skills to integrate AI into teaching, assessment, and research. Sessions were led by eminent faculty from IITs, IISc, and industry experts, combining interactive lectures with practical training on AI tools.
Day 1 introduced participants to AI foundations and prompt engineering through guided exercises with ChatGPT. Day 2 focused on ethical AI use, classroom integration, and collaborative content creation using GenAI tools. On Day 3, participants engaged in a hackathon-style activity on the DevRev platform, presenting innovative AI-enabled educational solutions and lesson plans.
The program provided a strong grounding in AI concepts while emphasizing responsible and ethical adoption in academia. Participants developed ready-to-use lesson plans, AI-generated teaching materials, and prototype educational projects, strengthening their ability to create engaging, future-ready learning experiences.
With 30 faculty members in attendance, the FDP fostered a vibrant peer-learning environment and established a growing network of AI-aware educators. The initiative was highly appreciated by participants, who valued the balance of theory, practice, and innovation.
