About the Minor :
Digital transformation is no longer a dream. It has arrived and it is here to stay. Our cutting-edge minor program in Digital Humanities and Data Skills is designed to unlock the power of digital essentials to students across all disciplines. This minor program prepares the students with skills required to succeed in the digital world. It does not matter whether a student is studying arts, humanities, social sciences, commerce, management, law or public policy, gaining skills and aptitude to understand some simple aspects of technology is essential.
The curriculum is a balanced blend of theoretical and practical knowledge to ensure that students gain sufficient about various aspects of the technological world. Students will be exposed to computer programming languages to write simple programs to get tasks accomplished. They will be provided with enough fundamental understanding of building simple web pages that talk to a database, fetch, visualize and analyze data. The students will develop problem-solving skills and technical expertise through hands-on experience and projects. The learnings accomplished during the 8-course minor program will enable the students to tell beautiful stories using data.
Software Engineer: Part of the software development team in a product, solutions, or service organization.
Software Test Engineer: Part of the ‘last line of defense’ team ensuring tested and quality products or solutions are released.
Data Analyst: Visualize and interpret data to help businesses in strategic decisions.
BI (Business Intelligence) Analyst: Use BI tools to develop interactive dashboards for better decision-making.
Research Analyst or Scientist: Conduct research to advance data understanding and develop new techniques in data science.
