Visit of Commanding Officer, 1 Kar Bn NCC

Commanding Officers from the 1 Karnataka Battalion of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) visited the Global Campus of Chanakya University on 25 January 2023, and held meaningful discussions towards establishing a NCC Battalion at the University.


Representatives of this Battalion were- Lt. Col. Shri Ravindra Singh -Officiating Commanding officer, Company Havildar Major Shri Satish Kumar Training Non-Commissioned Officers, and Shri Naveen Kumar –Accountant.


On behalf of Chanakya University; Dr Ashok K.S. – Dean at the School of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, Dr. Anil Kumar Garag – Professor at the School of Commerce and Management, Shri Pradeep Kumar Sharma –Professor at the School of Public Policy and Legal Studies, along with Captain Smt. Chaithanya R – Assistant Professor at the School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences; were present.


Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Ravindra Singh provided an overview about NCC and specified the mandatory prerequisites to establish a NCC battalion at Chanakya University. He also consented to allotting 80 vacancies to the University after it fulfils the prerequisites required to establish an NCC wing.


Dr Ashok responded affirmatively and committed to providing all infrastructural facilities by the next academic year. Currently, the University has established a temporary NCC Room and Storeroom on campus. The representatives of the 1 Karnataka Battalion visited these facilities as well. During this interaction; importance of building a Firing Range, Parade Ground and Obstacle Training Course at the campus was stressed upon;along with signing of the official DG NCC policy letter by Dr. Ashok H. S and Company Havildar Major Shri Satish Kumar as per NCC Acts & Rules for establishing the NCC unit on campus.
