Prof. Sowdhamini, Adjunct Professor, SBS, participated in the National Scientists Round Table Conference (NSRTC 2026) held at Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University, Pune, from 17–19 July 2026. The three-day conclave brought together over 100 eminent scientists, researchers, innovators, policymakers, and academicians from premier institutions including IITs, IISERs, IISc, CSIR laboratories, C-DAC, IIITs, and other leading research organisations to discuss emerging frontiers in science, technology, and innovation. The conference served as a vibrant platform for interdisciplinary knowledge exchange, collaboration, and the development of strategic roadmaps aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Prof. Sowdhamini served as a chairperson during the conference and delivered an invited presentation titled “Voyage through Omics of Medicinal Plants and Drug Design.” Her lecture highlighted the integration of omics technologies with medicinal plant research to accelerate drug discovery and the development of next-generation therapeutics, showcasing the transformative role of computational biology and systems approaches in modern drug design.
