The 2nd Chanakya University Moot Court Competition, organized by the School of Law, Governance and Public Policy, brought together law students from across India to deliberate on contemporary issues in competition law, data privacy, and digital governance. The moot proposition centred on algorithmic pricing, market dominance, and data monetisation within a digital ride-sharing platform, raising key questions under the Competition Act, 2002 and Article 21 of the Constitution.
Day 1 featured registration, an SCC Online training session, preliminary rounds, and octa-finals, followed by a formal inauguration. Distinguished speakers including Prof. (Dr.) Chethan Singai, Prof. (Dr.) Yashwanth Dongre, Dr. S. Somanath, and Sri Arvind Kamath emphasized ethical advocacy, interdisciplinary learning, and clarity in legal reasoning.
Day 2 comprised quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the final round, showcasing strong advocacy and analytical skills. The valedictory ceremony was graced by eminent jurists including Justice Aravind Kumar, Justice Hemalekha, Justice C. M. Joshi, Justice K. S. Mudgal, and Senior Advocate Raghavan, who highlighted critical thinking, ethical practice, and the importance of human judgment in an AI-driven legal landscape.
The competition concluded with KLE Law College emerging as winners, marking the event as a significant platform for experiential legal learning.
