Vijay V.
Ph.D., IIT MadrasAs an environmental engineer, my research journey began by exploring solid-state bioreactors and material synthesis for pollutant removal, which gave me a strong grounding in applied environmental chemistry and systems optimization. Over time, my focus has evolved into understanding and addressing the multifaceted challenges of water resources management and urban sustainability in the Indian context. My recent research interests also span to predictive water quality modelling and the quantification of environmental externalities. Through these, I seek to influence decision-making tools that enhance sustainability and circularity, especially in rapidly growing urban centres. My research quest is to design and implement sustainable systems that are inclusive, locally adaptable, and forward-looking. I aim to continue working at the confluence of environmental engineering, data science, and societal needs be it through collaborative research, policy interfacing, or mentorship. Whether in the lab, the field, or through transdisciplinary networks, I aspire to contribute meaningfully toward a regenerative future.
