Prof. Poonam Purohit has served as a Visiting Faculty member at the Indian Institute of Management, Nagpur. Before this, she pursued her Post-doc in Indian Knowledge Systems under Prof. Mahadevan’s guidance at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. Her post-doctoral work included a book project titled “Introduction to Indian Knowledge Systems,” an initiative by the Ministry of Education through AICTE. She worked as a Consultant in the Economics and Social Sciences Area at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB), where she was associated from 2016 to 2021. Her areas of expertise include Organizational Behavior/HR, Indian Ethos in Management, Spirituality in Management, and Leadership Development through Yogic Sciences (Indian Knowledge Systems). She has conducted Management Development Programs with esteemed IIM faculty members such as Prof. Ramnath Narayanswamy and Prof. N.M. Agarwal, among others.
Her book on “Indian Management- Bharatiya Ethos in Management” is a breakthrough work in the field of Indian Management published in 2023. In 2019, Prof. Poonam Purohit was recognized as an expert in Indian Knowledge Systems. She has been a reviewer for the Academy of Management, a highly regarded global management journal, since then.
Prof. Poonam Purohit earned her Doctorate in January 2018, graduating with distinction. Her Ph.D. thesis, awarded by the Honorable Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, at Banasthali University, Rajasthan—the largest women’s university in the world.
