Dr. Sandoche Balakrichenan

Sandoche Balakrichenan is the Head of Research & Development Partnerships at AFNIC, the French Network Information Center. His research focuses on networked computer systems, with current interests in Internet identity management, security, and privacy.

He has served as an invited IoT expert for the European Commission, representing the European ccTLD community, and as an expert reviewer for Cap Digital. He served as Co-Chair of the RIPE IoT Working Group and currently chairs the LoRa Alliance Academic Working Group. Dr. Balakrichenan is an active contributor to several standardisation bodies and industry alliances, including GS1, the LoRa Alliance, IETF, RIPE, and AIOTI.

He received his PhD in Computer Science and Networks from the Université Pierre et Marie Curie and also serves as an advisor to PhD students. With 19 years of experience in DNS and distributed systems, he has published six journal articles and 16 peer-reviewed conference papers, including a best paper award in the distributed systems, IoT, and performance evaluation.
