My research journey has been shaped by a deep commitment to understanding the intersection of financial efficiency, sustainability, and technological innovation within the MSME sector. During my Ph.D. at Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, I have been driven by the belief that sustainable finance is not merely an academic pursuit but a practical tool to balance profitability and environmental responsibility. My doctoral work explores the optimisation of sustainability and profitability in Indian Green MSMEs through advanced econometric and machine learning frameworks, integrating Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Artificial Neural Networks to model efficiency and resilience.

The motivation for my research stems from witnessing the challenges faced by MSMEs in accessing finance and maintaining liquidity while transitioning towards greener operations. This inspired me to investigate how financial decision patterns and capital structure strategies could be reframed to align with sustainability goals. Over time, my research has evolved into a data-driven, interdisciplinary inquiry connecting finance, economics, and technology. My publications in reputed ABDC-ranked journals such as the Quarterly Journal of Finance & Accounting, Economic and Political Weekly, and the Australasian Accounting, Business and Finance Journal reflect this journey.

I have also been fortunate to present and publish my work in international platforms including Cambridge University, IISc Bangalore, Middlesex University, IIMs and BITS Pilani. These engagements have enriched my understanding of cross-border financial ecosystems and the transformative role of digital inclusion and fintech in shaping MSME competitiveness. Recognition through the Best Research Paper Award (2024) at the International Conference on Sustainable Finance and Development further strengthened my resolve to contribute to evidence-based policymaking for sustainable enterprise finance.
Looking ahead, I aim to advance my research by developing a predictive financial efficiency model for MSMEs that integrates behavioural finance and ESG parameters. I am particularly interested in examining how blockchain and AI-enabled financial systems can democratise access to finance and enhance transparency in emerging economies.
