Charu Ratna Dubey
Ph.D., Jawaharlal Nehru University, New DelhiMy area of specialization is International Relations; however, I also take interest in the subject-matter of Political Science. My current research in the field of IR is focusing on two areas- the recent changes in the Indian Foreign Policy in the past decade particularly the use and significance of terms like strategic autonomy and the development of Indic glossary with a purpose to understand IR through a non-Western lens. Whereas, in the field of Political Science I am working on the contemporary debate around democratic backsliding and how the existing liberal western understanding of democracy is misjudging the democratic health of the Global South.
Apart for this, as part of the visiting fellow at National Chengchi University, Taipei under the Taiwan Fellowship funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Taiwan, I am also concluding my research work on Decolonization, Democratization and Economic Growth: A Comparative Study of Taiwan and India. The research work identified endogenous and exogenous factors responsible for distinct experiences of Taiwan and India on the three processes.
My current and past research encouraged me to create a research and policy hub that combines global politics and political science.
