Dr. Bhagyashri Devaru Bhat

Assistant Professor, School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences
Ph.D.

I am a dedicated researcher in the field of condensed matter physics, with a specialization in 2D and bulk materials. My research is focused on understanding the electronic, optical, and magnetic properties of materials using Density Functional Theory (DFT). It is extended to diverse aspects such as the Rashba effect, exciton binding energies, photocatalysis, and magnetism in 2D materials, which are important for next-generation optoelectronic and spintronic devices. My future goals include advancing the understanding of quantum phenomena in materials and contributing to sustainable technologies in energy. I am particularly enthusiastic about collaborating on interdisciplinary projects that bridge physics, materials science, and engineering to address global challenges in energy efficiency, data storage, and quantum computing.
