What you’ll do
This is a hands-on studio in the fundamentals of video production, photography, and digital storytelling for today’s creator-driven media environment. You’ll learn how visual content is created for platforms like YouTube, Instagram, digital media channels, and online storytelling spaces — working through the basics of photography, camera handling, composition, lighting, video shooting, audio recording, editing, and visual storytelling through practical exercises and collaborative production activities.
The studio is designed as an immersive production environment where you learn by creating content rather than attending lecture-heavy sessions. Working in teams, you’ll conceptualise, shoot, edit, and present original visual stories based on real-world themes and campus experiences. The course also covers mobile filmmaking, short-form video production, creator culture, and audience engagement strategies.
What you’ll make
In teams, you will produce:
- One short video project (3–5 minutes)
- One short-form reel or social media video
- A photo-story or visual documentation project
- A presentation explaining your production process and creative approach
Final outputs are screened and exhibited on the closing day.

What to bring
Your mobile phone for shooting activities, and a laptop if you have one. The studio will provide DSLR / mirrorless cameras (subject to availability), tripods, basic microphones, basic lighting setup, extension boards, and memory cards. Editing will use Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, or Canva. Photography and video production take place within the university campus and nearby locations.
Who it’s for
This studio is beginner-friendly and open to students from all disciplines. No prior experience in photography, filmmaking, or editing is required. The studio is designed to encourage creativity, experimentation, collaboration, and visual storytelling through practical production activities.
