Navtarang 2025: Cultural Welcome for the Batch of 2025

The School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences organized Navtarang 2025 on 20 September 2025 at Preksha Auditorium to welcome the incoming undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Batch of 2025. The day-long program, held from 09:30 a.m. to 04:00 p.m., combined performances, games, and interactive activities designed to introduce freshers to the University’s cultural fabric.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Rajesh Aruchamy, Associate Professor, Dr. Saurav Sarmah, Assistant Professor of International Relations, and student coordinators Ms. Aneesha Y and Ms. Rithi Raju. The inaugural segment underscored the themes of collaboration, self-expression, and community building.

The stage then featured a sequence of performances including music, solo and group dances, rap, and other creative acts. A fashion walk added variety, showcasing confidence and style. Each performance was well received, with active participation from both students and faculty. Faculty members also joined students on stage, reinforcing the sense of inclusivity and shared celebration.

A key highlight was the launch of a student-led media initiative by the Media Club, under the guidance of Dr. Aruchamy. The initiative aims to create platforms for creative expression, experiential learning, and leadership development.

Navtarang 2025 went beyond entertainment, serving as an orientation into the University’s culture of openness and participation. It helped new students build connections with peers and mentors while offering opportunities for expression outside the classroom. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks, recognizing contributions from organizers, performers, and volunteers.
