Bhagavadgītā is a very important work in the Bhāratīya tradition. It is not only of spiritual significance but is also of relevance to one’s day-to-day life. The wisdom contained therein has guided, inspired and moulded our thoughts in different ways in different ages. Considering the importance of this work, every year on the day of Mārgaśīrṣa Ekādaśī we, the people of Bhārata, observe Gītā Jayantī. According to the Mahābhārata this was the day when Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa revealed it to Arjuna on this day on the battlefield of Kurukṣetra. This year the day was observed on 3rd December 2022. Following this tradition, the Center for Indian Knowledge Systems (CIKS), School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences planned to celebrate a one-day program on Gītā and its knowledge. As a part of the Gīta Jayantī The workshop titled “An interactive session on Life skills and Bhagavadgītā” was conducted by CIKS where Shri Gokulamuthu Narayanaswamy, Director of Product Development at Itron Indian, Banglore, was invited as a resource person for the workshop. He delivered valuable thoughts on the Life skills with special focus on Self-awareness and Empathy inspired by Bhagavad-Gita. Dr. Vinayachandra Banavathy, Director, Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems presented brief preamble on the significance of Bhagavad-Gita and reason for observing Gītā Jayantī at the beginning of the event. Dr. Ramakrishna Pejathaya, Associate Professor, Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems, Chanakya University coordinated the event. The event got concluded with Vote of thanks by the coordinator
