About the Minor :

This minor provides a comprehensive understanding of fundamental environmental principles and ecological systems and explores the interconnectedness between human activities and environmental
impacts. The courses included here are to examine current global environmental challenges and their underlying causes. This minor course will equip students with interdisciplinary knowledge and practical
skills to address pressing environmental challenges. The curriculum is structured to build foundational knowledge in earlier semesters, followed by applied learning and research in later stages. Each course
aligns with the following thematic areas:

  • Sustainable Agriculture
  • Urban Water Management
  • Soil Conservation for Ecological Balance
  • Environmental law, policy and governance
  • Behavioural Sustainability Rooted in the Indian Knowledge System
  • Environmental Scientist/Specialist: Analyze environmental problems, conduct research, and develop solutions.
  • Environmental Engineer: Design and implement solutions to environmental problems, such as pollution control and waste management.
  • Environmental Consultant: Advise businesses and organizations on environmental issues and sustainability practices.
  • Sustainability Manager/Consultant: Develop and implement sustainability strategies for organizations and industries, focusing on areas like energy efficiency, waste reduction, and resource management.
  • Environmental Health Officer: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and protect public health from environmental hazards.
  • Climate Change Analyst: Analyze climate data, develop mitigation and adaptation strategies, and assess the impacts of climate change.
  • Ecologist: Study the interactions between organisms and their environment, focusing on conservation and biodiversity.
  • Urban Planner: Design and manage urban environments to promote sustainability and reduce environmental impacts.
  • Landscape Architect: Design and manage landscapes to promote sustainability and create environmentally friendly spaces.
