Prof. S. Sadagopan

Prof. S. Sadagopan is the former Director of the International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIIT‑B), where he served from 1999 to 2021. He is a graduate of the University of Madras, India, and Purdue University, USA, and brings over 25 years of experience teaching at premier institutions such as IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, IIM Bangalore, and IIIT Bangalore, along with short teaching assignments at Rutgers University, USA, and the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok.

His research interests span Operations Research, Multi‑criteria Optimization, Decision Theory, Simulation, Enterprise Computing, Multimedia, and e‑Governance. Prof. Sadagopan has authored seven books and several research publications. He is a Fellow of the IEE (UK) and the Computer Society of India, and a Senior Member of IEEE, ACM, and AIS.

He serves on several national boards and committees, consults widely across industry sectors, and is a regular columnist for The Times of India.
