As a follow-up to the online meeting, Dr. Ravikant Ranjan, Associate Director (Global Engagement), and Sri Yashwanth D. N. from Chanakya University met with Prof. Daisuke Matsushima, Kanazawa University, Japan, in Bengaluru to further discuss opportunities for student mobility, internships and collaborative project-based learning between the two institutions.
The discussion progressed on the proposed short-term exchange programme, under which students from Kanazawa University would visit India to undertake internships and research-oriented projects. Chanakya University would facilitate and support the visiting students during their stay, providing academic supervision and mentorship, and extending the necessary institutional and logistical support for their projects and other learning activities.
The meeting also explored potential areas for short-term research and market-oriented projects that could provide students with practical exposure to Indian industries and markets. These included projects related to healthy foods and consumer markets, sericulture with a comparative India-Japan perspective, and the semiconductor supply chain and associated market research. The discussions highlighted the potential for these projects to bring together academic learning, field-based research and industry perspectives, while also creating opportunities for meaningful interaction between students and faculty from India and Japan.

The meeting further strengthened the understanding between Chanakya University and Kanazawa University and provided greater clarity on the possible structure and scope of the proposed student engagement programme. Both sides expressed interest in taking the discussions forward by identifying suitable projects, academic mentors and industry linkages, and by developing a framework for short-term student visits and collaborative activities.
The meeting marked a further step towards developing student mobility, experiential learning and interdisciplinary research engagement between Chanakya University and Kanazawa University, building on the discussions initiated during the earlier online meeting.
