M. Sivakumar, completed his Ph.D. from the Department of Theoretical Physics, University of Madras. He served in the School of Physics of the University of Hyderabad for more than three decades, after a few years of post-doctoral research.
His research interest spans several areas of theoretical physics, ranging from the general theory of relativity to condensed matter physics and has to his credit numerous research papers published in several international journals. He has published two books, including a textbook ” Introductory quantum field theory-concepts and applications”. He has been a visiting scientist at many reputed universities and institutes abroad, including PN Lebedev physical institute, Moscow and Max Planck institute for gravitational physics, Potsdam. His recognitions include Associate membership at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics. Trieste. Italy, and is a Fellow of the Andhra Pradesh Academy of Sciences and Telangana Academy of Sciences.
He is also a passionate teacher and an educationist.
He is on the editorial board of the Journal of Physics Education, Pune and is also the chief coordinator of a national-level program “Physics Training and Talent Search”.
