The Centre for Integrated Public Health and School of Biosciences together organised a talk focusing on the use of artificial intelligence in the advancement of the healthcare industry and therefore the potential highs and lows of the same.
The speaker, Dr. Arvind Rao, professor of computational medicine and bioinformatics, biostatistics and radiation oncology at the university of Michigan, was straight up the best resource person for the topic . his insights on medical imaging using AI, data analysis, the pros and cons of artificial intelligence on the healthcare and thus on the researchland and ultimately the morality aspect of AI in fields as sensitive ad mass oriented as drug discovery drew directly from his extensive work and experience from being an integral part of the research community for over two decades.
The talk closed with an extremely enthusiastic follow up and interactive session from the students. A testament to Dr. Rao’s ability to deliver and impart wisdom in a way that piques curiosities and encourages reasoning.
A session as intellectually stimulating as it was interactively engaging. Worth every second spent, said a few students as they stepped out of the room.
