Sri. Kris Gopalakrishnan
Sri Senapathy “Kris” Gopalakrishnan is a globally respected technology leader, entrepreneur, and institution‑builder. He holds Master’s degrees in Physics and Computer Science from IIT Madras and is a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) and an Honorary Fellow of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE).
A co‑founder of Infosys, Kris served as its CEO and Managing Director (2007–2011) and later as Vice Chairman (2011–2014), guiding the company during a period of significant global growth. Widely recognized as a thought leader in business and technology, he has been featured among Thinkers50 Global Business Thinkers and was named Asia’s Top CEO (IT Services) by Institutional Investor. He served as President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in 2013–14 and as a Co‑Chair of the World Economic Forum, Davos (2014).
Awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2011, Sri Gopalakrishnan currently chairs Axilor Ventures, the Board of Governors of IIIT‑Bangalore, the Vision Group on IT, Government of Karnataka, and the CII Start‑up Council, while actively supporting research in brain sciences, aging, and deep‑tech innovation.
