Prof. M. K. Sridhar

Prof. M. K. Sridhar is an inspiring Indian educationist, academic leader, and institution‑builder with over four decades of contribution to higher education and national education policy. A Professor of Management and former Dean and Director of the Department of Management Studies at Bangalore University, he has mentored thousands of students and guided interdisciplinary research.

Prof. Sridhar served as Member Secretary and Executive Director of the Karnataka Knowledge Commission (2009–2013) and has been associated with key national bodies, including the Committee for Drafting the National Education Policy, the Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE), and the All‑India Board of Management Studies (AICTE). He currently serves on the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Executive Council of the Central University of Kerala.

He was the Founding Chancellor of Chanakya University, where he played a pivotal role in shaping its academic vision, governance framework, and value‑driven approach to education, and continues to serve as a member of its Board of Governors. He also serves as President of the Centre for Educational and Social Studies (CESS), Bengaluru, contributing actively to education reforms and social development initiatives.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to education and public policy, he was conferred the Padma Shri (2024) in the field of Literature and Education.
