Chanakya University was delighted to welcome Prof. Fiona Newall, Head of Department, Nursing, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, University of Melbourne, as part of the “Meet Melbourne in India” series.
Prof. Newall was accompanied by Mr. Hamish Dunn, Recruitment Manager, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, along with a Senior Country Officer from the University of Melbourne’s India Office.
During her campus visit, Prof. Newall engaged with students and faculty, sharing thoughtful perspectives on building meaningful careers, developing strong research acumen, and navigating an evolving world. Drawing from her own academic and research journey, she emphasised the importance of curiosity, critical thinking and applying simple, practical wisdom in both research and everyday life.
The interaction also provided students with valuable insights into postgraduate study pathways and scholarship opportunities at the University of Melbourne, offering a first-hand perspective on pursuing an international academic journey.
Prof. Newall also met with Prof. Subramanya to explore potential avenues for research collaboration and broader academic engagement between the two institutions.
The visit was facilitated by Global Engagement, Chanakya University, led by Dr. Ravikant Ranjan, as part of the University’s efforts to connect its students and faculty with leading global institutions and international academic opportunities.
