Durga Prasad Ayyagari
Post Doc, IISc Bengaluru, Ph.D., BITS Pilani, GoaMy research focuses on supply chain management with a specific emphasis on how businesses can operate more sustainably and efficiently. Broadly, my work explores how organizations can integrate green practices and collaborative strategies to genuinely improve their economic, environmental, and social outcomes while maintaining a competitive edge. Rather than just focusing on compliance, I look at sustainability as a core driver of business success.
Moving forward, I am particularly interested in exploring the “social” side of sustainability, especially within emerging economies like India. Often, factors like community well-being, worker safety, and social equity get less attention than environmental or financial metrics, but they are just as critical to building resilient supply chains. Additionally, I am deeply drawn to humanitarian supply chain management. The logistics behind disaster relief and non-profit operations are incredibly complex, and resources are usually stretched thin. I hope to help organizations deliver aid more efficiently and improve response capabilities for the communities that need it most. Ultimately, my goal is to ensure my work translates into tangible, positive impacts for both businesses and society.
