Governance and Accountability in the Age of AI
The University, in association with Pure Storage, hosted a guest lecture by Niki Armstrong, Chief Administrative and Legal Officer, on 5th February 2026 at the Seminar Hall. Armstrong brought a sharp legal and institutional lens to the rapidly evolving discourse on artificial intelligence, addressing the ethical responsibilities that organisations and individuals must embrace as AI becomes deeply embedded in professional and public life. She examined frameworks for responsible AI use, the risks of unchecked deployment, and the growing importance of governance structures. The session offered students a grounded, practitioner-driven perspective on one of the defining challenges of our time.
