Prof. M. Ram Murty (Queen’s University, Canada), A.V. Douglas Distinguished University Professor and Queen’s Research Chair, delivered a lecture titled “The Art and Science of Research” at the Research Exchange Forum on July 5, 2025. An eminent mathematician and philosopher, Prof. Murty is celebrated for contributions to algebra, number theory, and Ramanujan’s legacy, as well as for integrating mathematical inquiry with philosophical perspectives. In his talk, he outlined eight methods of conducting research, offering participants practical frameworks to refine their approaches.
