The inaugural edition of the Chanakya Premier League (CPL) – Season 1 proved to be a remarkable success, marked by exhilarating matches, extraordinary performances, and unwavering sportsmanship. The tournament commenced with great enthusiasm on 10th April 2025, and culminated in a thrilling grand finale on 24th April 2025.
The league featured four dynamic and spirited teams, each representing the essence of competitive cricket:
- Arihant Torpedoes – Agile and aggressive
- Jalashwa – Calm yet commanding
- Veer Warriors – Fearless and fiery
- Vikrant Warriors – Strategic and steadfast
Throughout six high-voltage matches, the teams battled it out with grit and glory in the league stages. After an intense round of matches, Team Jalashwa emerged as the top contender, followed closely by the formidable Vikrant Warriors, both earning their spots in the highly anticipated finals.
The Grand Finale – A Day to Remember
The electrifying finals were played on 24th April 2025, under a clear sky and amidst cheering crowds. Having won the toss, Vikrant Warriors chose to field first, aiming to capitalize on early breakthroughs. Team Jalashwa, undeterred, put forth a spirited batting performance, posting a competitive total of 127 runs for 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Chasing a target of 128, Vikrant Warriors started confidently but soon faced resistance from Jalashwa’s disciplined bowling and agile fielding unit. Despite their efforts, they were restricted to 108 runs for 8 wickets, falling short by 19 runs. With this hard-fought victory, Team Jalashwa was crowned the glorious champions of the first-ever Chanakya Premier League.
The energy, passion, and camaraderie displayed throughout the league were truly commendable, and every player contributed to making CPL Season 1 a memorable sporting event in Chanakya University’s history.
